Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Qabila collects, why, where it is kept, how long we keep it, and how you can remove it. Our Health Data Policy adds the details for your health information.
Who we are
Qabila (“we”) runs the Qabila period tracking app and this website. We are responsible for your personal data. Privacy contact: privacy@qabila.app.
What we collect
We only collect what you give us or what the app needs to work.
- Account details: your email address.
- Health information you choose to enter: for example period dates, symptoms, mood and notes. This is sensitive data, described in our Health Data Policy.
- Technical data: your device type and app version, and error reports if the app crashes. We use these only to keep the app working.
- Waitlist email address, if you joined the waitlist on our website.
- Messages you send to our support team.
Our legal basis
You can withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect what we did before you withdrew.
- Your explicit consent: for your health data, and for launch emails.
- To provide the service you asked for: for your account.
- Our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and fixing problems.
- Legal obligations that apply to us.
Your health data is stored separately from who you are
We store your health data against a random account ID. Your email address and login details are held separately by our sign-in provider, so the database that holds your health data does not contain your name or email.
Where your data is kept
Some of your health data is stored on secure servers in the European Union so that you can restore it on a new phone. Some data stays only on your device.
Why we use it
We use your health information only with your explicit consent, and only for the purposes in our Health Data Policy.
- To run the app and give you its features.
- To answer your support requests.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
Selling and advertising
We do not sell your personal data. We do not show ads in the app, and we do not use advertising trackers or advertising identifiers in the app or on this website. If this ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
Predictions
The app calculates estimates, such as expected period dates, from the information you enter. These are automated estimates only. We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers who process it for us under contract and on our instructions (hosting, email delivery, sign-in and customer support), with professional advisers where needed, and when the law requires it. See the Health Data Policy for how we handle legal requests.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data such as encryption in transit and at rest and limited staff access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
This website
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. It uses only the technical storage it needs to work. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
How long we keep it
We decide how long to keep data by looking at how sensitive it is, the risk of harm if it were misused, why we collected it, and what the law requires. We keep data longer only where the law requires it, and we will tell you when that happens.
- Account and health data: while your account is active.
- After you delete your account: removed from our live systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.
- Inactive accounts: after 24 months without use we email you, then delete the account if you do not reply within 30 days.
- Waitlist email: until 30 days after launch, or until you ask us to remove it.
- Support messages: 24 months.
- Security logs: 90 days.
Your rights
Under the data protection laws that apply to you, you may have these rights. Use the settings in the app or write to privacy@qabila.app. We reply within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why, and you can appeal by writing to the same address.
- Access your data.
- Correct it.
- Delete it.
- Object to or restrict how we use it.
- Receive a copy to move elsewhere.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
Complaints
Please contact us first at privacy@qabila.app so we can try to put things right. You may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and data inside the app, or follow the steps on our Delete account page.
Transfers abroad
We host your data with providers in the European Union. If a provider handles data outside your country, we use only providers that protect it to a similar standard and bind them by contract. You can ask us at privacy@qabila.app where your data is stored.
Children
Qabila is not for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If we learn we hold such data, we delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date below. If the change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again.
